It’s been 20 years since I wrote my first local events articles for Cycle News. I remember writing about (and photographing) Josh Woods sweeping the 125/250A classes at Baja Acres. I was just out of high school and it was such a high seeing that work in black and white.
One of my favorite projects that we used to produce was the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame ceremony induction videos. We got the opportunity to work with a lot of legends. As the yearly gala became more and more of a grand and celebrated event, we made a ceremony kickoff video. This is the one from 2013-ish. I didn’t attend the year that this ran but we were told there were a lot of watery eyes in the audience. This video still gives me goose bumps.
Not many people outside of that room see these videos. But they’re not a secret. They’re all on the museum’s YouTube Page. It’s a great place to kill a slow workday afternoon.
